End of the 2007-2008 Season!!
Well, that time of year has finally arrived! The time to put away the sleds, trailers, clothing, boots, helmets & anything else related to snowmobiling and get out our rakes, garden tools, lawn mowers & pool supplies! I am not quite sure which is harder to take, the end of the snowmobile season or the snow melting and what lies underneath all the snow we had this winter!
What a winter we had, would you agree? Our groomers and operators barely had any break this winter, which is a good thing! We received many complimentary e-mails which Linda has posted to our web site. Thank you for the encouragement, it sure is nice that our groomer operators are given words of praise for a change. Nice job boys!
We had minor groomer breakdown and/or repairs this winter which means the groomer operators are getting the hang of it and the importance of maintenance on the machines.
The 39th Annual NHSA Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 10th at the Mountain View Grand Resort. We are allowed 14 delegates for voting purposes. If anyone is interested in attending please let Jill know ASAP. The cost is $25.00 each but the club will be picking up the tab. If you commit to attending and DO NOT end up going, you will be held responsible for the $25.00 cost per person. It will be up to you to get yourself there. Registration is 9-10 a.m., buffet brunch from 10-11 a.m. and the meeting will start at 11:00 a.m. promptly. Jill needs a head count to NHSA by April 30th so be sure to let her know if you would like to attend.
Our deepest condolences to club members Walter & Ginny Clavett. They recently lost their nephew in that horrendous motor vehicle accident in Glendale last week. Our thoughts are with you both!
Our Board of Directors disassembled the draw bridge in Lakeport and it has been disposed of properly. We will be looking to have a steel, moveable bridge fabricated for next season. Grant-In-Aid will determine that for us. Dave will be meeting with a local steel fabricator to get an estimate to submit to DRED.
Our final meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd at Hector’s Fine Foods & Spirits located on Beacon Street West in Laconia. We thought we’d try something a bit different for our last meeting of the year to try and interest a few who normally wouldn’t attend. We will plan to be there at 6:00, ordering shortly after that so that we can try and have the meeting start as close to 7:00 as possible. Jill has promised Carla that we would have at least 10 people eating dinner that evening so let’s see if we can accomplish that. If you would like to attend the meeting but do not want to eat there you are more than welcome to come by around 7:00 for the meeting.
We will have our usual end of the season meeting, electing a new Board of Directors. If you are interested in becoming a director or would just like to see what it’s all about we encourage you to try and attend this meeting. After the new Board of Directors is elected they in turn will elect the Officers for 2008-2009. Again, if anyone is interested in becoming an officer, we encourage you to attend.
Remember the date and note it’s Wednesday, not Tuesday, April 23rd, Hector’s in Laconia. The food is great there, and the atmosphere is nice too! 6:00 to eat and 7:00 meeting to follow dinner. Hope to see you there!!
