Happy Spring!!

What can we say about the winter, or lack of it? There is not much we can say other than what happened?? There is always next year!! Living in New England, I guess we learn to expect & accept it.

I would like to take this moment to thank Gail Beane for her tireless work she put in on our web site. She has passed the torch on, if you will, to Linda Davis. Gail put in many many long hours working on getting our web site set up and maintaining it. For that we thank her, she did a fantastic job and we are very appreciative. Thanks again Gail! Welcome aboard, Linda. Jon Bossey is overseeing this project along with Linda and we appreciate his efforts as well. Check out the new web site, I think you will like the new changes. Jon is looking for any pictures you may have that you think we could use on the web site so contact him on that. Also, if you have any suggestions or things you would like to see added, let us know as well. As always, we are open to any and all suggestions.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 27^th. It will be held at the Sportsmen’s Club. It is our annual election of officers & directors. We thought we would do a pot luck supper for this meeting. For the past few years we have had our last meeting at a restaurant and just thought a change would be nice and everyone seems to enjoy the pot luck suppers. So bring your favorite dish and beverage and we will see you at the Sportsmen’s Club at 6:15-6:30. We are looking for some new faces to join our board of directors. If you are interested, let us know. Some people are too shy to nominate themselves so if you let us know ahead of time, we will be sure to add your name to the list. Also, if there are any directors who are looking to step down at this time, let us know as well so we can start recruiting replacements.

The 35^th Annual NHSA Meeting is being held on Saturday, April 24^th. This year it is being held here locally at the Winnipesaukee Expo in Lakeport. This is certainly much more convenient for us as for the past few years we have had to travel out of town for this meeting. If you have never attended one of these meetings I suggest you try and attend. They can be very interesting and informative. We are entitled to have 51 delegates attend for voting but anyone can actually attend. You will need to let Jill know if you would like to attend as she needs to get the list back to NHSA by Monday, April 15^th. So either e-mail Jill or give her a call and let her know if you would like attend. It starts at 1:00 and lasts until 4-4:30 or so. Happy hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with a buffet being served at 6 p.m. Reservations are required for this as well so let Jill know if you are interested in attending.

I would like to take this time to thank those who showed up to help on our bridge dismantling last Saturday. We had 6 people show up and we were done by noon! We were even able to start the Irwin Motors bridge. Thanks also to Mark Dickson for showing up on Thursday to remove the top decking. That cut down on our time greatly, thanks Mark! Also thanks to Norm Daigle for the use of his dump trailer. This sure did make that dump run a whole lot easier. Thanks Norm!! We understand time is a premium to most people and so any help we get at our work parties is certainly appreciated.

We are taking orders for sweatshirts with the club log on them. We will try and get a picture on the web site so you can see how they look so check the web site periodically. Basically it is a grey sweatshirt with the logo on the breast and our name across the back. They are like the old sweatshirts except with the new logo. These are being made to order so we have none in stock. We will be ordering them as you give us the order. They are $35.00 and are embroidered rather than screen printed. They are well worth the money. They are done locally here at Piche’s and are a nice quality. If you are interested in ordering one give Jill a call or e-mail her with the sizes, etc. We still have a few mugs left as well and once these are gone, they are gone.
