September Newsletter 2004
Belknap Snowmobilers
Greetings!
September is upon us and it is time for membership renewals once
again. Those forms are enclosed and I ask you once again to
please consider receiving the newsletter via e-mail if you have a
computer. Well over half the club received their
newsletters via e-mail last year and that helped tremendously in many
ways, not only the time factor in getting the newsletters typed &
stuffed into envelopes but also the cost of the stamps, paper,
envelopes, etc. So please consider that once again when you check
the newsletter box. If you check the "e-mail" box, please,
please, please be sure to write legibly as once again there were
problems trying to decipher the correct addresses. These
addresses will not be shared with anyone as Jill is the only person who
has access to the addresses. We ask once again that you fill the
form out and return it as soon as you can so we can get this info down
the NHSA. New membership numbers are being issued this year
as there were many duplicate memberships so NHSA has decided to issue
all new #'s. Linda, our web master, has also updated the renewal form
on the web site so you can also download a copy if you need to.
We are also going to be looking into getting PayPal up and running on
the web site as well. Eventually we hope to be able to
offer you our merchandise and have PayPal available for payment.
This is a very convenient service and very secure as well. We
will keep you updated on the progress or better yet, check the web site.
The new Gilford groomer has arrived and it's a beauty. We
received grant money towards the purchase of a 2005 Tucker 1000 from
Cooks Equipment in Vermont. This is the club's very
first brand spanking new groomer and the boys are very excited and
anxious to see how she's going to maneuver thru the Gilford
trails. The club's cost towards the new groomer is $11, 200 so we
need to make sure the Grass Drags this year are successful and hope the
weather cooperates with us.
The schedule for the 2004-2005 meetings is also enclosed. You
will notice our first meeting is Tuesday, September 28th and it's our
traditional pot luck supper. We'll supply the paper plates,
etc. and all we ask is you bring a dish or dessert to share along with
your drink of choice. The first meeting is an important
meeting as we will be discussing the grass drags and will have the sign
up sheet for you to volunteer to help out. Last year was a great
year as far as our help was concerned and we're hoping you all come
through once again this year. If you can't make the Sept. 28th
meeting and are willing to give us a hand at the Grass Drags, give
Jill a call or e-mail and let her know you're available.
A big congratulations also goes out to Mark & Kris Dickson as well
as Heidi & Marc Bourgeois. You will recall last year
about this time we were congratulating both couples as they prepared
for their weddings. Well this year we wish them well in upcoming
birth of their children. Yup, both couples are
expecting! How exciting!!
Trail work will be done on an ongoing basis. No major re-routes
are planned or expected, at least at this time. We will be
installing at least six gates to protect the land from unwanted
intruders. This will be announced as soon as the material
arrives. Check the web site or give us a call if you feel
ambitious!!
Once again this year, my phone/door is always open for comments,
suggestions, complaints, what have you. Feel free to give me a
call anytime if you have concerns or something you'd like to discuss.
John Ferguson
