September 2009 Newsletter

Hello Club Members!  Welcome to the 2009-2010 snowmobile season!  Enclosed you will find your membership renewal forms for the upcoming season along with a coupon, which I will explain.

Ski-Doo has come out with an incentive program called “The Million Dollar Club Support Program”.  This is how the program works, for each certificate submitted by one of our club members the club will receive $10.00 back from Ski-Doo.  There is a maximum of $1500 and I am pretty confident we can easily meet that maximum!  The other incentive to this program is that for each club who achieves the $1500 maximum their club name will be entered into a raffle for a free Ski-Doo MXZ Adrenaline or Summit Everest 800R snowmobile, which of course we could/would turn around and raffle off with the proceeds going back into the club’s treasury!  All it takes from each of you is to bring it to the local Ski-Doo dealer in your area. Should you not be able to get to a dealer for whatever reason, you can certainly return it with your membership and we will be sure to get it to HK Powersports prior to the November 15, 2009 deadline!

Yes, that is the only catch they need to be submitted prior to 11/15/09.  You don’t have to be a Ski-Doo enthusiast, just a snowmobiler willing to earn the club $10.00 per member.

Also as another incentive, for each membership that is returned to us prior to October 31, 2009 your name will be entered into a club drawing and one winner will be picked for a $100 cash give-away.  This is to try and encourage you to get your renewals back earlier this year.  The paper jam and backup is almost unmanageable and so we are trying to work around this by encouraging everyone to renew early.  Also on the renewal forms, please please please write legibly, not only your name & addresses but the e-mail addresses as well

The Laconia Tucker is at Cook’s Equipment in Vermont, being refurbished/overhauled.  They are installing rubber tracks and when they are done it will drive like a new machine!!  The boys are very excited about this!!

Once again the county maps are being printed and this year they will have a new look.  The map has been revamped and color advertising has been added as well.  Be sure to patronize our local advertisers.

Our first meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 29th.  We normally hold the meetings the 4th Tuesday of each month but with the late mailing of the newsletter we are going to push the meeting back by one week.  Once again it will be our usual pot luck supper at the Sportsmen’s Club on Lily Pond Road in Gilford.  Doors will open at 6:00 and hopefully we will eat around 6:30 with the meeting to follow directly after the meal.  Bring your favorite casserole to share as well your beverage of choice.  If you just want to attend the meeting and not the pot luck you should try and arrive around 7:00-7:15.  You don’t have to come to the pot luck supper to attend our meeting, we’d love to see you either way.

At our last meeting in the spring we elected the new Board of Directors.  We have added 2 new board members, Ben Pearson & Troy Holmes.  We are looking forward to some fresh ideas!!  The slate of officers has remained the same, i.e., John Ferguson President; Mike Smith Vice-President; Jill Ferguson Secretary/Treasurer/Memberships; Dave Glazier Trail Master/Trail Administrator.

Again this year if you should choose not to receive our newsletters be sure to check the web site periodically for updates, etc.  Also with the increase in postage & supplies, I can’t encourage you enough to please choose to receive your newsletter via e-mail as it would not only help the club’s treasury but also time/effort that the snail mailings take!

John Ferguson  President
